I will be creating a new work, currently titled “The Nine,” as a first response to the current political climate and especially the makeup and behavior of the supreme court. I am inspired by the iconic work “The Green Table,” by Kurt Jooss, and my interest is to further the discussion on what is power and how is it wielded today in America. This work will require comfort with modern and postmodern movement, both in improvisation and choreography, and contact-based dancing.
Currently this is not a paid opportunity, however, if the piece is ever accepted into a festival, show, or gallery that does pay, all pay will be split equally. Cast members will need to rehearse in the Mt Vernon area of VA, typically at either the Martha Washington or Sherwood Library sites. I will do my best to keep meetings to Saturdays, however some Sundays may be necessary if space is at a premium. Expect most of the building to happen in January and February in possible preparation for NACHMO.
If this is of interest, please fill out this Google Form and attend one of my auditions!
